Deputy Prime Minister Misa Telefoni

The supply of agricultural produce is not keeping pace with the needs of the tourism industry and it is a problem frustrating the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism,  Misa Telefoni .
He has already made his clear opinion felt in the agricultural sector.
“I have raised my disappointments with the Ministry after talking to a few hotel owners whose needs for fresh  veggies for example are not met,” Misa revealed.
He was speaking at the launching of the Regional Economic Survey Report  yesterday at the Manumea Hotel.
Misa believes very strongly that the answer to the problem is for the Ministry of Agriculture to work closely with the private sector .
“What we need are facilitators not regulators,” he encouraged, by hinting at the setbacks that frustrates the services demanded by the tourism industry but are currently not met.
“It does affect the growth of tourism when hotel demands are not met by agricultural growth.”
Tourism is currently at the forefront of several new major projects planned for Samoa including the proposed construction of several luxury hotels, to further boost the growth of developments in the country.

Former minister of Agricultural

Misa, weren't you a minister of Agricultural before you became a minister of STA? I guess you have failed miserably. The STA has alwasy been stable before you took over, thank goodness to Joe Kiel!
