Emelio Family Business Sells To Methodist Church

The long legacy of a family business known to many as ‘Emelio’ comes to an end this week, when members of the Fabricius Family sign up the sale of their Mulivai property to the Methodist Church. Little is is said about the reasons behind the sale. The ‘Emelio’ business revolved over the years mainly around their retail shop and bakery. There was a time when it was converted into a liquor bar and nightclub. The business was operating a supermarket under the trading name “Pele Rose Mini Mart” when the sale came through. The supermarket was run by Ieti Fabricius and his wife Peka at the time. ‘We didn’t know anything about the sale, that was handled by members of our family based overseas,”Ieti said from his home at Vaitele today. “They are already here to sign over the sale of the business.tomorrow (Thursday)” Fabricius and Peka meanwhile are on the lookout for a new location to re-establish their supermarket business. The sale price for the ‘Emelio” Mulivai property remains undisclosed but it is reported to cost the Methodist Church several million tala .
