New Telecom Regulator for Samoa

The Samoan Government has appointed Donnie De Fretas as the new Regulator. Donnie De Fretas, who hails from the Carribean, will replace John Morgan who previously held this position. Donnie De Fretas is currently the Director of Technical Services for the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority. He has been working in the field of Telecommunications for more that twenty (20) years. He holds a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Rector of Higher Polytechnic Institute of Havana, Cuba. He also attended the University of Florida and the University of West Indies. He was also involved in the Formulation of many Telecommunications Programs in Caribbean. Mr Fretas also organized and presented papers at different Workshops held in Asia and the Pacific Region. He is married with one child.
