FRONTLINE STAFF : Local Western Union Staff who will be under scrutiny

The staff of six selected Western Union sub-agents, will need to make a conscious effort to be on their toes for the next 12 months, if they want to win the ‘race for success’ challenge to promote better customer services.
An all expenses paid weekend in Thailand and a few other mouth-watering goodies are there for the taking if they are judged to be the best.
The locally selected sub-agents of  the Western Union franchise, are among an exclusive grouping of sub-agents in the Asia and Pacific region, referred to as Club 500.
Only franchises with high customer turnover are qualified to be included in the exclusive club.
Staff performances in each of the competing sub-agents will be assessed on selected areas like making it simple for customers to take advantage of the services available.
Customers have to be cared for by treating them with ‘respect and recognizing social and cultural differences.’
Safety of service, speed, reliability and  convenience are other areas of service the judging will be based on over the next 12 months.
A ‘mystery shopper’ who will steal in unannounced to spot check on each of the sub-agents will assess staff performance, based on the criterias the competition will be judged on.
The mystery judge is anybody’s guess and may either be local or sent from outside Samoa.
“This is the second time Western Union sub-agents in Samoa have been included in this competition, the first one last year was won by the staff of one of the sub-agents in the Philippines,” Ms. Anarosa Molio’o says.
“They were hosted as guests during the annual meeting of representatives from the Asia Pacific region while enjoying their winning weekend prize.”
During the period of the competition, the organizers will provide communications, training and workshop sessions to boost ‘customer service awareness to a heightened level.’
