General Manager of Westpac’s Pacific Banking Ms. Jane Kittel is in what is known throughout the Pacific, as well, a mans world, but she has no qualms about it.
As the General Manager of one of the Pacific’s more influential commercial banks Kittel says being the first female to hold such a position in a hundred years, is not short of a challenge.
But it is not an issue of gender according to the successful business woman, but rather on her values and goals as one of the leaders in Pacific banking.
Such priorities include ensuring that Westpac sticks by its philosophy: “Ask once.”
“For us, our number one priority is really very much focus
ed on customer relations, developing strong relations with our customers, whether that be our business or personal customers, to develop long standing and sustainable relations and to focus on providing excellent service,” she said.
“Our philosophy is 'Ask Once' and our objective is to make sure that we work with customers and striving for getting it right the first time,” she said.
Newsline caught up with the General Manager who is currently in Samoa for a short visit as part of her normal visitation programme.
Kittel who spends six months of the year visiting Westpac countries says it is important that she sees and feels what the people of Westpac are up to in their respective countries.
“The strength of Westpac is in its commitment to the community,” she said.
Kittel was appointed General Manager of Pacific Bank in early 2006 and leads a team of more than one thousand Westpac employees across the South Pacific with operations in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Sydney…..NBR
