Can You Smell Teuila

The waters of the Apia harbour are again churned and frothed about by the frantic sweep of long oars of the fautasi racing fleet, tuning up for the big Teuila Festival Fautasi Race. The popular event is one of two scheduled during the course of the year. The Teuila Festival and the Independence Celebrations both hosts fautasi racing. Seen here (photo) is one of the entries, the Little Rina, Friday evening as the crew is ready and set to row. On a different front, (2nd photo) members of the Matautu-uta Mormon Church , takes a clean up stroll along the main seawall in town. It is their contribution to making the town pretty and also part of the build up to the Teuila Festival in a few weeks time.
