Catholics Offer Up To Mother Mary

Catholic faithful on their way to the Malae o Tiafau for the special Mass to honour the Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Heavy rains and gloomy weather conditions last Friday evening, failed to prevent thousands of devout Catholics from staging a special procession from the Mulivai Cathedral to the Tiafau Malae at Mulinuu. The procession ended with the worshiping of Mass by the representative of His Holiness the Pope and Archbishop Alapati Mataeliga. The special occasion was to honour the Virgin Mary Mother of God, and to seek her protection for Samoa. Catholics from all over the country were called on to worship. The service of Mass lasted late into the night.
