Digicel Plead Not Guilty to Illegal Lottery

Digicel "Last Man Standing" contest that has landed them in court Digicel entered a plea of Not Guilty in Court yesterday to charges made against them by police in relation to the Gaming Act 1978. The Communications Company is being charged by the Police for not registering their ‘Text Getz’ competition. According to Attorney General Ming Leung Wai, under the Gaming Act 1978 the “maximum penalty for an illegal lottery under section 14(1)… is ‘imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to a fine not exceeding $1000 or both’”.
