Gwendolyn Tuaitanu Is New Miss Samoa
written by Jethro, September 06, 2008
Congratulations to the new Miss Samoa. Reading the news item, she seems to clearly be the deserved winner.

Had the scores it been very close though, the intnetions of the Samoan delegation who flew to the USA to witness and escort her back to Apia would have been questiond!

Lesson to learn here, either you go to all, or none at all.
Congrats

Nice Job Misa!
written by sau, September 07, 2008
I agree with Jethro. I don't want to take anything away from Gwen becasue she is now a new crown Miss Samoa. I congratulate her for winning the Miss Samoa 2008-2009. However, i also questioned Misa and his delegation visited to Utah, and not NZ and Australia.

I guess it shows you that he's now trying to promote Tourism in US, but he failed to realize that the Samoan population in US were not ever considered when they made the changed from LHD to RHD. Samoan NZ & Samoan Australia should be very critial of what's happening in the tourism industry. So, what's next? I guess next year the Miss Samoa Australia will be the next Miss Samoa? lol. Have a great day Samoa!

written by Samoa Tourism Authority, September 08, 2008
To Jethro and Sau, just wanted to claify your misinformation, but Misa was in attendance at The Miss Samoa New Zealand and The Miss Samoa Australia along with the opening of the first Miss Samoa USA. Whoever told you that he did not attend does not have the facts right. Honourable Misa Telefoni was in attendance and did support these outside pageants. Thank you and Faafetai.

Boy are we ever so proud of Gwen. For those of you who don't know this young lady personally, I hope you have the chance to meet her one day and feel of her good spirit. I am glad to see beautiful, intelligent, loving, and talented young women such as herself, and our former Ms. Samoa Sheri Elekana (as she visited us little people in UT this summer) represent our beautiful country...fine examples of true Samoan Beauty inside and out.

May the Lord bless you as you continue on to Miss South Pacific, and in all your endeavors for the betterment of your great people of Samoa.

Mucho Amor to you Gwendolyn!

written by sau, September 09, 2008
Ok Falani & Samoa Tourism Authority, my bad. I guess i should have checked the facts before i open my mouth and i apologize for the misinformation. I take full responsibility for my behavior and i'm greatly sorry. My apologies to Misa and his delegations as well.

As for new Miss Samoa, congratulation to Gwen and i wish her the best for the upcoming Miss South Pacific. I'm not a sore looser Falani, but i received some ill advised about the misinformation and i should have checked for it's accuratecy. I congratulate Gwen and i'm very happy that she won. I was only concerned about the due process, but given the correct informations, i arrest my case. Maniua Smoa!

Honest tah hu (Embarrasing 4 the local I don't think so mate)
written by moana, September 09, 2008
I fell sorry 4 our local competittive cos there will b no chance @ all for this coming event..
Meaning they do not have the money nor not enough people have the access in the internet to vote.
Gwen won cos,,she has the majority of her voterss on the line.
Am i right mate..
Samoan girls depend who has the cell or crdit on the phone..
I hope nxt time teuila should b chnge for all the girls that lived in Samoa 5yrs...
C if those samoan born girls lived outside survive w the hard life @ home..
To me i don't think so,they not last w the living...
C if they continue their VIP living in the luxury....
My concern is the girls that live @ home...
I want a real Full Samoan to get the title...
So pls stop the pickering @ whinging @ rubbishing our competitive...
My niece runs for Mc donald, she tried but not enough talent like Miss Gwen...
But i think she is tall enough to rpresent Samoa to the South Pacific...
Never mind this subject must b close now..

Time to change...
written by Jack, September 11, 2008
Congratulations to New Miss Samoa Gwen Tuaitanu...you did what you had to do to win. I am sure the other beautiful young women participated did their best...but only one can win the crown. For all those pointing fingers and finding someone to blame; you not to worry. Only God knows your heart and who you are. Our people will always faikakala and pull each other down. This is why we do not have that many successful Samoan out there. For example, the Saiga, Filipino and the Kolea were brought to Samoa & Am. Samoa to do odd type of work, like sweeping the strees, working the plantations and fishing. They save money, started business, at the same time help each of their countryman to start a business. Gwen, what did you see when you were in Samoa...most of the rich people and big businesses ownedd and run by the groups I mentioned. Where are the real Samoans...talk, talk, faikakala and still makiva and still do nothing but rely on free give aways (money) from families overseas. So, let the faikakala and the logo leaga do their thing and you Miss Samoa, go do your thing and glory your Heavenly Father for the opportunity and thanks your supports for helping you.
Humble Samoan Beauty "WON"... Congratulations "Gwen"
