Ms. NIVE TAUILIILI : A bit of controversy for Mother's Day

Nive Tauiliili a mother of seven from Letogo, does not share the thrills and excitement that other mothers are usually overcome with during the Mothers Day period.
“Mothers Day has turned into a commercialized activity,” says Nive an employee of Samoa Tel.
Nive says this because she believes the idea has changed from a Day to celebrate the importance of the work of a mother, to a period when companies earn more from sales of gifts, and material possessions.
Nive believes that there is nothing more important to her on Mothers Day than knowing that her seven children are grateful to her for the work she has done for them and that they realize the love she (Nive) has for her children.
Nive enjoys her motherly duties, and loves to spend time with her children.

It's all about how you feel about Mother's Day...not about how businesses do business
written by Jack, May 12, 2008
Mother's Day is all about celebrating the roles mothers play in our homes and societies. Mothers are the hearts of homes and societies...without them our world is in trouble. Businesses out there to make money on any given holiday comes with the territory. We celebrate Mother's Day because we cherish our mothers and appreciate all they contributed in our families and homes...sometimes buying something as a gift is a sign of respect and appreciation. But nothing is more powerful then a simple hug & a kiss and tell your mom "Thank You and I love you"
