FOR MOM ONLY : Pot Plant seller making sure the mothers are properly served on their special day.

The Anthurium and the Bromiliad are this year’s Mothers Days favourite plants as gifts for mom, so is the word along beach road.
Ms. Joyce Tevita, a gardener who has been selling her plants under the shades of the pulu trees opposite the ANZ Bank for Mothers Day, says so.
Her word carries a lot of weight, because she has been in the business for six consecutive years now.
“This year more and more people have been buying the bromiliad, which is a plant belonging to the pineapple family,” Ms. Tevita told Newsline.
“Most people believe this is the best gift idea for mom,” she  added like any experienced pot plant seller will say .
Mothers Day shopping has always been one of the busiest times for her.
“Sales usually soar during this time (Mothers Day.)”
Since Tuesday, she has already sold thousands of dollars worth of bromiliad to customers.
Directly opposite her stall is another fellow gardener, who happens to be of the opposite gender, selling plants and flowers of all kinds as well, in competition with Ms. Tevita. All healthy, friendly competition, nothing to do with any gender equity nonsense.
Anyway, he told Newsline, that the most popular flower this year, is the anthurium.
“Most mothers that shop for themselves usually buy the anthurium which is available in different colours and ideal for bouquets and leis.”
Buying potplants is now an established tradition during Mothers Day because most mothers  take a special interest in gardening.
“I always try and bring a variety of plants during Mothers Day because I know that different mothers have different tastes, however most mothers and plant buyers for Mothers Day have opted for the bromiliad this year.
