Quiet Xmas in Samoa

After the 24 hour opening of nightclubs, it was a very quiet Xmas day in Samoa. Although there were thunderstorms last night the whole Xmas day was clear and sunny in Upolu. For most families they attended the Xmas services either on Xmas eve or this morning. Whilst the church services were popular last night not many were seen at the church services this morning. Xmas day started for most with a toonai particularly for those who had been celebrating at the night clubs the whole night up to 6am in the morning. In the afternoon the main beaches at Lalomanu were reported crowded as the families made their way to the picnic spots around the country. There were number of family reunions also being organised today. There were also families around the country who were organising themselves for conferment of matai titles. The Semanu and Lave saofai were on of the ones being organised today at Salelologa.
