Rev. Situfu Tanielu Chairs Again in 2009-2010

LEADERSHIP: (l-r) Deputy Chairman Rev. Situfu Tanielu with the new Chairman Rev. Tavita Roma. The Rev. Situfu Tanielu, will return as Chairman of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, CCCS, for 2009 –2010. Delegates to the CCCS annual general conference elected Rev. Tanielu to be the new deputy Chairman, on the final day of the 2 weeks conference at the church heartland at Malua yesterday. He was the clear winner in a runoff vote with his New Zealand based rival, Rev. Ioretana Tanielu. Under the succession rules of the CCCS, the deputy chairman is essentially the Chairman designate. He will step in to take over when the one year term is over for the incumbent. The new CCCS Chairman, Rev. Tavita Roma, took up his new office officially yesterday, to succeed Rev.
