Letter to Editor :PAUL COFFA’S EXIT

There are two explanations as to why Paul Coffa is leaving Samoa. According to Jerry Wallwork, he is leaving for more money. He needs more money to keep the kids in school and put food on the table, he said. The other, Paul Coffa’s own explanation, is that money has nothing to do with it. He said he has finished his work here and wants to develop weightlifting in other Oceania countries. I wonder who is telling the truth. Paul Coffa is obviously a very frustrated man. Samoan politics must be one reason he is leaving the Institute and starting a new life in New Caledonia Before you leave, Paul, open up and tell us exactly what caused you to make such a dramatic decision. If your legacy is to continue after you leave, we must know what the problems are and find a way to fix them. If we don’t know what the problems are, we can’t do anything about them and your legacy in Samoa will surely die prematurely. You are without a doubt the most respected sports official in the country and will be very much missed. The very best to you in your future.
