A few years back, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Honorable Misa Telefoni, brought the Moonies, alias Unification Church, to our shores. It didn’t take intelligent people long after reading about it on the Internet to know they were a bunch of con-artists. The church/business/cult keeps changing its hat and calling itself by different names but it always remains a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It even duped the Prime Minister, most of his cabinet, the chairman of the Samoa Council of Churches, the Catholic Archbishop and a lot of other gullible Samoans who paid honor to them at our National Prayer House.
Now it’s the Prime Minister’s turn. He has brought in another group of con-artists just as bad as the ones the Deputy PM brought in. I have just come off the Internet reading about the Church of Scientology (and that is what it is called) and I am amazed that the PM could allow himself to be so easily duped.
This dubious “church” will do anything to enhance its agenda and has been charged with brainwashing, kidnapping, money laundering, etc. etc. Read it on the internet if you don’t believe me. Even Rev. Oka Fau’olo had to go public and disassociate the Samoa Council of Churches and himself from the “Church” of Scientology after it made a statement claiming he was supporting it. He obviously didn’t want to get duped again.
What is wrong with our Prime Minister? After arbitrarily declaring that Samoa would change from LHD to RHD and putting the country into an outrage, he now brings in a bunch of con-artists and allows them to camp out in front of the government building. Has he gone off his rocker? Has success of the SPG gone to his head?
The Unification Church and the Church of Scientology have two things in common. The first thing is that they are both shady organizations made up and run by con-artists. The second thing they both have in common is having heaps of money behind them. Both of them got their wealth by brainwashing people into giving away their hard earned money.
Both of these so-called “churches” are being forced to defend themselves in countless court cases around the world, most of which are brought by former members who woke up too late and found that they had been duped.
The fact is both of them have and use big money to allure people of influence whether it is heads of state, prime ministers, Hollywood movie stars and, yes, even ordained ministers in various churches. The Catholic Archbishop of Uganda was lured away from his Church with a lucrative compensation package which included a young Korean woman he had never met before to be his wife. He fell to temptation and became a Moonie.
These two “churches” use mind-altering persuasion to take advantage of the simple-minded and gullible, especially vulnerable are the youth. Beware if your children get involved with these “churches!” You may never recognize them again after they get through with them.
Because both “churches” are extremely well funded, they attract the famous and the greedy and both “churches” are always willing to compensate handsomely to attract those of influence in order to achieve their hidden agendas. You can form your own opinion about how they got into Samoa.
