The hard work and determination of 80 students has been paid off, after they were awarded scholarships to study locally and abroad.
The students that formerly attended the National University of Samoa, Foundation program were selected based on their aggregates from the first and second semester.
These scholarships were offered by the Government of Australia, through the Australian Development Scholarship (ADS), the Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) and the Australian Regional Development Scholarships (ARDS).
The New Zealand government also offered scholarships through the New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) and New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships.
The Samoan Government Sponsored Scheme (SSS) provided scholarship opportunities also.

For the 2008 intake 55 scholarship awards are offered by Australia and New Zealand for study overseas to Foundation students who are ranked highly in their respective faculties.
Of the 55 awards, five are offered for study in Australia to the Science Faculty only, 15 to New Zealand, and 35 for study in Fiji.
These are excluding scholarship awards offered by the Government of Samoa for Foundation students who have achieved outstanding results but due to ineligibility cannot be offered awards.
Australia and New Zealand also offer on an annual and competitive basis, an Open category awards which gives two lucky applicants that have been employed for a minimum of two years the opportunity to further their tertiary educations.
Amongst the recipients was Emi Loree Asi, that studied Science at Foundation last year.
She will be studying at the University of Queensland Australia.
She hopes to pursue a Bachelor in Engineering majoring in Chemicals and materials.
