[Left to Right] Friends of graduate Monalisa, So’otaga, Faamao Ualesi, and Meipo

Last Friday’s graduation for the National University of Samoa, Higher Institute of Technology was a memorable experience for the 25 old, Ms. Faamao Ualesi.
She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business and Administration, and was the only student in this field, which made this festive event [graduation] all the more memorable, explained Ualesi.
She reaped her success in the graduation ceremony witnessed by a full Gymnasium at the Apia Park  last Friday 28th March.
Ualesi is the daughter of proud parents, Sevia and Fiu Faauma of Sapoe, Saipipi, Vaitele-uta and Falealili.
She obtained her MBA from the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.
Ualesi explained to Newsline that the experiences she gained after nine months of sweat and hard work, was worthwhile and is one that she will treasure and cherish forever.
She added that the course took nine months, where she had to complete four papers in just three semesters.
“This presented a period of hard times and struggle for me, because I was unable to socialize with friends and family,” explained Ualesi.
However, she is adamant that her accomplishments have made all her sacrifices throughout the year more valuable.
Ualesi says that her accomplishment did not come easy.
“There were a lot of sacrifices made; I really had to prioritize my studies, which is a fundamental aspect in gaining such an achievement,” says Ualesi.
She also added that apart from the sacrifices, she’s really thankful for the opportunity she had to live and study abroad.
Furthermore she reiterates that the experiences she gained was a golden opportunity for her, to be exposed to different fields of study she was interested in.
Also the chance to learn and be part of a different culture and lifestyle in Australia was a bonus, she explained.
Ualesi is currently employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and hopes to become a management officer hopefully in the near future.
