French History Documents Gifted To Samoa

Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and Masiofo Filiflia are joined by the Deputy PM Misa Telefoni, Professor Serge Techerkezoff , Ms. Zita Martel, French Consul in Samoa and Mrs. Serge . A window into the historical links France can claim about Samoa, is being propped up this week, by a collection of written accounts or narratives and historical documents by French explorers to Samoa. The collection is bound together into a a bookform of letters, reports and other written or painted art works by the early French expeditions,. The books author or compiler of these valuable historical documents is Professor Serge Techerkezoff He is a French historian and anthropologist who has already written several books about contemporary Samoa. He is no stranger to many Samoans as a academic researcher and also one who is married to a Samoan. The French Ambassador to Samoa , His Excellency Michel Legras is today gifting a set of limited editions to the National University of Samoa , National Archives and to American Samoa. Yesterday the author, presented a forth bounded volume as a special gift to the Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi at the official residence at Vailele.
