PSSC out, stressful wait over

The anxious wait for 2007 Year 13 students is finally over. That happens when the Pacific Secondary School Certificate (PSSC) examination results were made available to students last week. Students flocked to their respective schools to receive their results of their final year at high school. Many hoped they did enough to get the required grade to get into the University Preparatory Year (UPY) or Foundation Year at the National University of Samoa (NUS). In order to do so students must obtain an overall mark of no more than fifteen in English and the next best three subjects. NUS has not yet received a confirmed list of the number of students who will be attending its UPY programme this year. At UPY students, depending on their results from their first and second semester’s work, are chosen for scholarships to under go tertiary studies in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji or Vanuatu. One student from Samoa College said he felt like he was going to have a nervous breakdown before he collected his results from school.
