PARTING EMOTIONS : Parents separated from their children leaving for overseas scholarship studies Parents making emotional goodbyes to sons and daughters leaving on scholarship studies overseas, is turning into a common scene at Faleolo International Airport these past few days. A large exodus of new students leaving home for the first time, were farewelled at the weekend, by parents grappling with mixed feelings of pride at the childrens achievement and of having to let them go. The group who left on Saturday morning were starting out their first year at the main campus of the University of the South Pacific in Fiji and the School of Medicine in Fiji also. Others undergoing studies under the wing of the regional university are also travelling further out to Vanuatu to study law. New Zealand and Australia students are scheduled to be leaving over the coming weeks.
