Champ of Champs was held on Friday at Apia Park, this event marked an exciting and rewarding day for St, Joseph College, for the wins they took home.

With fifteen secondary schools participating in this annual inter athletic sporting event, competition between schools were extremely intense and forceful, because all schools were determined to win first prize over all.

St. Joseph College was able to breeze through the entire boy’s division, by St. Joseph bagging a clean sweep of all three divisions, junior, intermediate and senior.

Schools that participated in the event are as follows: Papauta Girls College, Samco. College, Maluafou College, Nuuausala College, Leiififi College, Leulumoega Fou College, Vaipouli College, St. Marys College, Palalaua College, Vaipouli College, Church College of Western Samoa, Congregational Christian College School, Avele College, St. Joseph College and lastly Chanel College.

Results for the overall Champ of Champs event, are as follows:

Junior girls Division, fifth place taken by SAMCO, fourth went to Maluafou College, third place was Nuuausala College, second place was taken by Leiififi College and first place was Leulumoega Fou College.

Intermediate girls division, fifth place was a tie between Leiififi College and Vaipouli College, followed by SMC taking fourth, Palalaua College took third place, Leulumoega Fou in second place and Maluafou College wining first place.

Senior girls division, Vaipouli College in fifth place, fourth CCWS and CCCS, third place Maluafou College, second went to Leulumoega Fou College and first place Leiififi College.

Junior boys division, Vaipouli College in Fifth place together with Avele college, Leififi College in forth place, third was taken by Nuuausala College, Leulumoega Fou College in second place, and in first was a tie between Saint Josephs College and Palalaua College.

Intermediate boys division, fifth place goes to SAMCO, fourth went to Avele College, third place Leulumoega Fou College, second place Maluafou College and first taken by St. Joseph College.

Senior boys division, fifth place Maluafou College, fourth place tied between Vaipouli College and CCWS, third place went to Avele College, second place went to Leulumoega Fou College and first place was taken yet again by St. Joesph’s College.

Newsline was able to interview some of the victorious athletes from St. Joesph’s College

regarding there school being the title holder for this years Champ of Champs, Taupou Sefo comments by saying “ I feel honored and privileged to have represented my school in this annual event and hope that my family and friend especially my school are proud of my victorious efforts shown” he took first place in 800 meters track and mile.
