Bronze Pele shows newly released album Manava Tasi Maia

Bronze Pele, a name and face first made famous when he appeared on national television in the SBC Star Search Competition in 2006, last week launched his first CD.
The Star Search winner says that the album titled Manava Tasi Maia is a tribute to his late parents Deacon Tupuaga Fred and Ingrid Pele.
He says that the songs on the new album do not focus on one specific genre of music although he is generally thought to be an opera singer.

“This new album has a bit of everything ranging from RnB to Gospel. I am really into classical music because I am a huge fan of Josh Goban.
Classical music allows you to express emotions through singing, personally it is a different style of singing altogether,” says the 28 year old Faleula resident.
Bronze says he has had a passion for music since he was a child but it really developed on Star Search.
“Star Search was like my debut to the public eye. However I began singing for a concert team in the Catholic Church known as the youth for Christ. My first real win though was when I was a kid and my siblings put together a band and performed in a contest.”
Bronze says that his talent started from these humble beginnings and he is glad to have come this far.
He explains that the new album features 15 songs, three of which are remakes of some of his favourite artists.
“It gives me pleasure when I sing my own material, composed by myself, 12 of the songs I composed with the help of others, I really believe in the originality of music.”
He says that the third song of the CD is also dedicated to his aunties because when his parents passed away they took him in and raised him and his siblings as their own.”
Bronze has many musical aspirations he hopes to achieve but his focus right now is his career.
“I am a civil engineer by profession; singing is a hobby for me.”
However, he maintains that he hopes to record another album and work alongside some of Samoa’s top musicians.
“My inspiration as a singer is the Archbishop of the Catholic Church Alapati Mataeliga, he was the engine and driving force behind my achievements. He encouraged me to carry on and realize my talent as a singer.
The singing sensation was born and raised in American Samoa and says that when was 16 he moved to Samoa.
“I attended Chanel College, Catholic Senior School, University of the South Pacific and UNITEC in New Zealand.”
He is now happily married to Joanna Wulf and he and his wife have a daughter called Ingrid.
