Miss Niue is crowned 2008/2009 Miss South Pacific

New Miss South Pacific, Miss Vanessa Marsh during the float parade Miss Niue -Vanessa Marsh is the new Miss South Pacific. She was crowned Friday night at the Lee Auditorium, (Fale Laumei) Utulei, American Samoa. The last time the pageant was held here in 2004, Miss Niue also went home with the crown. Miss Niue also won the Sarong competition and Miss Photogenic. Throughout the whole pageant Vanessa, 23, a fisheries officer for the government of Niue, displayed wit, smarts, personality and grace. There was always loud clapping and cheering when she was on stage because of her funny poses, facial expressions, and her charm and personality. Other results: 1st runner up: Miss Samoa Gwendolyn Tuaitanu 2nd runner up: Miss Cook Islands Anne Maire Herman 3rd: Miss Fiji Filomena Tuivanualevu 4: Miss American Samoa Shannette Tilo Winners of Special categories: Best Talent: Miss Samoa Best Traditional Costume: Miss Tokelau Miss Tourism Award: Miss Samoa Miss Peronality: Miss Tokelau Miss Internet: Miss Samoa Miss Charity: Miss Fiji 8 girls competed.
