Tusitala Band is back

No doubt those so called die hard fans were at the Hotel Kitano Tusitala to see their stars of the famous Tusitala Band playing their come back gig after 20 years. Band members Funefeai Oliva Vaai, Lyle Moors, Francis Keil and Maua Miller decided to reunite again in music by putting up a thrilling performance for their die hard fans last Thursday night. Funefeai told Newsline, that the idea of them performing live again had always lingered in the mind, but the fact that two of their band members lived overseas, he thought that would be make it impossible. “We had been thinking about it for a while, but actual preparations for the event took about two days, because coincidentally both Maua and Francis were in the country. “We got together and discussed it, and figured that it was a good time to do it,” says Funefeai. He says Tusitala Band entertained many guests and locals at Hotel Kitano Tusitala, back when they were the resident band for the hotel. He says they always had a great time entertaining and performing for people and shared a special bond through music. He says the event was really a success, judging from the audience reaction, it seemed even after 20 years, the enjoyment they brought to people through music still had not faded. “We got some positive feedback from the crowd. People enjoyed themselves, which was what we wanted.” He says that a lot has changed in the music industry since the popular Tusitala Band last performed. “People were much more reserved, in the past. Now everything is very different and moving at an extremely fast pace. People enjoy a bit of anything nowadays.” When asked whether fans should look forward to another exhilarating performance, he says that is definitely a possibility. “It all depends on our strength, but hopefully we will, we certainly would love that, but we all have different commitments.” Comments (1) Subscribe to this comment's feed BAND Contact nos. written by Paula Maiu'u, May 25, 2008 Hi, Is it possible to advise any Samoan Band contact nos??
