I would like to thank the thousands of people who have given from their hearts to help our little "Preshie"... better known as Baby Miracle, the baby left to die in an inoperable incubator last September.
The last year has been a whirlwind of sorrow and joy... like the waves of the ocean. This child has survived to shine a very bright light a the dark side of paradise , where children with severe anomalies are sent home to die.
Things may not change over night. But they will change once all Christians ban together and listen and respond to the words of Christ which said, "whatsoever you do to the least of these my little ones, you do unto Me."
As baby Miracle is swarmed by the hundreds of people who have kept vigil to her carepage and articles about her plight through seven major operations.. she is oblivious to everything but the love she is receiving.
She cannot see and may hear only a little. Still, our "million tala baby" has opened a door that will never again shut in Samoa. Was the money worth it. Absolutely. Did it come from one source? NO.. it came from thousands upon thousands of people who love the Lord and know the beauty if giving.
Through Miracle we pray people realize once and for all... God does not create curses... he gives gifts. Some packages do not come wrapped in ribbons and pearls, but are treasures buried beneath layers, like that of a diamond. Miracle, and children like her are used to draw people together for GOD's purpose.
His Highness, the late Malietoa Tanumafili II had a deep love for the children of Samoa, so much so that he asked Carol and I upon receiving our titles Papalii and Tooa, respectively... that we NEVER forget the children of Samoa. Before he passed he would often thank us for our work with the poorest of the poor, those... without hope. I know that from the great beyond he must be smiling down on Baby Miracle as she is lifted up from the ashes of medical abandonment to the heights of love in its purest form. Selfless love!
Baby Miracle may not live a long life.. but a full life she will. One full of hope, love, prayers, thanksgiving, sorrow, joy, pain, suffering and the promise of everlasting life.
As Miracle is hugged and kissed and people gather to raise money to help pay her medical bills, there are others in the wings who need the same. Will your arms be there to lift them up? The physicians who treated Miracle are willing to come to Samoa to operate on others who still are hidden in the villages. Many, whose parents have been told they will be contacted when help arrives. For some it has been years. Say Yes to Jesus and keep the fire burning for all the children of Samoa.
The Miracle of Preshie's life has been that she proves when people plant a seed of faith and water it with the widows myte... a precious garden grows.
Happy Birthday MiracletinaJulieAmeMaryMikaele Nana. Perhaps you have the longest Samoan name in history, but one worth remembering. Your a truly a pearl of the South Pacific.
With love, Tooa Kristin Taylor and Papalii Carol Paul AhChong, Founders T.H.O.R.N. Ministries
