Capt: AN ACT OF LOVE; Baby Miracle in the arms of the President of the Survival Foundation, Tuilaepa Mary Grey, the Samaritan who has made it possible for her to receive specialist attention in New Zealand.![]() PolyBlue has joined the mercy drive to help Baby Miracle, by offering to fly her and 4 others in the traveling party to New Zealand free. The child with multiple abnormalities that has severely altered her face, is in need of medical attention at Middlemore Hospital, in Auckland. Tuilaepa Mary Grey, President of the Survival Foundation, who is organising the Baby Miracle fundraising drive, is delighted with the response so far from donors. “The $8,000 that we managed to raise for airfares will now go into Baby Miracle’s Trust Fund,” Tuilaepa says. She added that up to $30,000 has been raised already from the public appeal made in New Zealand, to help pay for the baby’s health bill. The arrangements at this stage is for Baby Miracle to be seen first by a medical specialist at Middlemore Hospital, to determine where to go for there. “We know that if it is possible to have reconstructive surgery on her, it will probably cost well over $60,000 so the Survival Foundation is continuing to appeal for help,” Tuilaepa vowed. Local doctors hold little hope of 2 month old Baby Miracle surviving, even if she has already defied earlier medical diagnosis where she was given only a few days to live. Earlier attempts to have the child send to New Zealand under the Government scheme was turned down, based on the advise of local doctors. “We’ve approached the Prime Minister personally to appeal her case, but his advise was for us to follow procedure, so we have made an appeal to the Minister of Health and we are still awaiting an official response. “It has not stopped us from going ahead with our appeal for help for Baby Miracle, and at this stage we have to thank all who have donated so far.” Baby Miracle is the only child of young Falelatai couple, Mikaele and Sefulu Nanai. Can you keep us updated on Baby Miracle's condition now that she's in NZ for treatment? Her story has touched me deeply as I do work closely in the States with people with special needs. Thank you for bringing this story to light.

I am outraged that New Zealand Immigration authorities have refused to give this poor child a visa. There is no way this child will get treatment without it!!
written by Nele Pouvave, January 11, 2008 Wow! Where was I? Never keep up with Samoan News. But my comments goes out to parents of Miracletina!! It's amazing how people think that this is a curse!!!No no no. O mea ia e iloa ai le mamana o Galuega a Le Alii Silisili Ese. You have to be very strong parents that this very special girl is given to you. This girl is very unique and you two are blessed with her. Who knows this could be a test to your Faith In God. Keep up with your faith and she will be fine. I myself has a miracle baby. My ten years old was suppose to die too but I put all of my faith in God that he lived through ten years old. Very healthy and very smart. There is reason for everyting that goes on in this world and your little angel is here for a very important reason. She will live through all these. She is destine to live for a Purpose in Life. So don't give up hope. I will donate what I can to help. I have a strong feeling that this girl will make it. Sad to hear that our government won't help out. Where is our Godly's spirit. I wish I have all the money in the world to help but God's people are all going to help you. We can all pull together on this. With all our love hopes and prayers for you Baby Miracletina and your parents. I wish I could hold this girl in my arms and tell her that she will be Fine. God does not allow us to face anything that we cannot handle. So you faithful parents can handle this. Write comment
