A tremendous outpour of grief and love has taken over the Samoan part of online network Bebo after the announcement of the death of teenager Tasa Paul from a rare health complication.

In a Bebo profile created in November 2007 for friends and family of the late Tasa, progress of her operations were reported and it acted as a message board for those who knew her to post messages of encouragement to the brave young Tasa.

In announcement made yesterday, the host stated: “As many if you may already know, our darling Tasa departed from this Earth early this morning. And for those of you that didn't know, I regret to be the one to tell you. She is not suffering anymore and she was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. It is noones fault, but now our father above is taking care of our Tasa! From her family, I would just like to say a huge thank you to all of you for all your support abd prayers throughout this time. Let this teach us all something about how we should choose to live our lives! We love you Tasa! You are our angel above now!”
Since the announcement, messages from Samoans all over the world, from family, friends and strangers have been posted on the page now titled: “R.I.P our Beloved Beautiful Tasa.”
Some of the messages include one by Zoia Adams who stated: “Rest In Peace Tasa! You were such a cheerful and wonderful child! I am glad that I had the oppurtunity to have known you in this life. I will surely miss you and your smile! luv u Tasa!”
A Samoa College student also posted a tribute from his class of 2004 to Tasa:
“Just for thought.
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
To bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.”
The outpour of support from the Bebo community only reflected the positivity that young Tasa had on her family, friends and those she came to know.
It is not known when the funeral will take place, but by the time this story was published, messages were still being posted onto the Bebo page from all over the world.
