The local nightclubs and bar owners are hoping for a two week window of levy on normal opening hours during the two weeks of the South Pacific Games.

As the count down towards the South Pacific Games draws closer, there is much excitement and enthusiasm brought forth by our local bars and nightclubs.

Local bars and nightclubs wish to use the up coming South Pacific Games to the best of their abilities and are eagerly preparing for this much anticipated event.

A majority of the nightclubs especially, hope to have extended hours during the two weeks of SPG.

Preparations that are currently on the way are things such as live band practise, and training for tighter safety in regards to more intense security during the extended hours.

Extra training is also being arranged for staff members in terms of presentation, their spoken language, and of coarse hospitality.

“These are all necessities for any business in terms of promotion of business and also to accommodate guests in the most pleasant way possible and to the best of our abilities,” says Dan Aiafi, General Manager for Tropicana at Fugalei.

“Also with great customer service and a sufficient supply of local alcohol like the famous Vailima, would contribute; in representing our country in the most distinguished way and therefore tourists from the SPG would enjoy their stay,” says Dan.

This upcoming event brings a great deal of economic value and will contribute tremendously  to the development of Samoa as a whole in ways such as, more money being brought into the country, help establish our status in the world market.

“During the South Pacific Games all people would want, is to enjoy their company in a relaxing and lively setting and that is exactly what the night clubs and bars are aiming to provide,” stimulating words from Hennie Tonu’u, General Manager for JT’s at Fugalei.

A majority of all nightclubs and bars wish without a doubt to have a two week window during the South Pacific Games with exceptions of extending hours up to 2am throughout the week excluding Saturdays.
