Any questions you may have concerning Scientology can now be answered if you participate in one of their many courses.
A group of Scientology Volunteer Ministers are in the country until the beginning of November with plans to help change as many lives as they can during this period.
The idea of Scientology is getting people to be more effective in everything that they do, according to Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour Samoa Director, Matthew Andrews.
He says although they are their own religion they do not want to conflict or contradict any other religion instead work side by side with the people and ministers of Samoa.
The courses vary from ‘Disaster Response’ to ‘Public Relations’ and can help with any problem life brings to you.
“It clarifies to better understand life.”
For example, the group will be going to schools to teach students how to study effectively because most of the times they are just memorising it, says Andrews.
However, now they can read it, understand what they are reading and use and apply.
“It is not about memorising, it is about understanding.
“It is about effective learning and effectively learning everything, it is about bringing up the standard of learning.”
They will also be going to the Police and Fire Departments and villages vulnerable to disasters to educate them on Disaster Management.
Scientology volunteers have been helping out at over 100 different disasters over the past ten years.
All their teachings are based on the publications written by L. Ron Hubbard who travelled the world and experienced different cultures and ways of life in which he based his philosophies on.
He did this because he wanted to know more about the common man.
“Now one man’s philosophy has spread to 163 countries in just 50 years,” explains Andrews.
Now, their mission is to help everyone as much as they can to help make different sectors of society more effective.
“We want people to know that you are doing a good job but we can help you do a better one,” explains Andrews, who continues by saying, “But we are not saying that we know best.”
They have no plans on establishing a permanent base for Scientology in Samoa.
However, from October 3rd there will be a tent outside the Government building where you can purchase the books and do courses on the different Scientology lessons.
The course is free and the books are SAT$5 each.
Although, to pass the course you must receive 100% on each lesson and cannot move onto the next lesson with out passing the previous.
“You must be able to know and apply.”
The Volunteer Programme began in 1976.
The Prime Minister Honourable Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Maliegaoi wrote a letter to Andrews, encouraging everyone to make use and be a part of the Scientology lessons which will be made available to the public over the coming month.
“This letter also provides written proof of Government’s support for your activities in Samoa. By this letter, I am hereby requesting every Government Official in fact any citizen of Samoa to give support to facilitate your (Scientology Volunteer Minister) activities which can only serve to benefit the people of Samoa.”
