MAKING UP : Don Bosco (yellow and green ) gives Leififi College student a warm hug after the Peace Mass conducted by Catholic archbishop Alapati Mataeliga.

The Assistant Police Commissioner, Papalii Lio Taeu Masipau has confirmed that two Don Bosco students have been charged with attempted murder, following a students riot in Apia a week ago.

For safety reasons, the Police Commissioner did not name the pair, who are the prime suspects of an attack that left, 17 year old Francella Tuala, of Leififi College with severe second degree burns.
The victim was waiting to catch a bus home when she was struck by the home made ‘bomb’, hurled from a passing car.
The two student suspects are included in the 54 Don Bosco school goer , plus three teachers who were arrested following the violence.
All are now scheduled for appearances in court.
“They will appear for mention in the District Court, on the 19th May.
“They have all been charged with the disruption of peace, however the two that have been charged with attempted murder, will appear in the Supreme Court later on next month,” says Papalii.
He added that some Don Bosco students will be testifying against their classmates in Court.
“They will give evidence and testimonies in Court against those who have been charged, including the two charged with attempted murder.”
Papalii stated that the students charged in the District Court, will be returning to school and he is unaware how this is going to affect their learning and relationship with other students, especially those who gave evidence and testimony at the expense of the others.
