Charged Affairs George Colvin during the US Embassy Super Tuesday Open Day event yesterday.


The Primary Elections of the United States of America were yesterday monitored and observed by selected members of the community at the US Embassy in Apia.
Charged’ Affairs His Excellency George Colvin hosted the local media and invited guests to a viewing of one of the more significant events in US history.
Asked about his prediction of the Primarys Colvin said: “Sitting in Samoa is a bad place to do predictions for what’s going on in the US, I would say that for the people who do these things professionally, McCain looks to be set to be doing quite well today for the Republicans.”
As for the democratic, Colvin said: “The predictions for the democratic side is so completely confused that the poll people have basically thrown up their hands, particularly how they did a lot of predictions in New Hampshire and how Obama was going to win and Hilarys campaign was going to end, they all got really embarrassed when Hilary won, they had stopped predicting quite as much as they used to.”

According to the Charg’d Affairs the Primaries came out of a lot of maneuvering by the state party committees.
“In the past the primaries has been spread out much more generously. The people running the parties in those states noticed that if their primary was late, people didn’t pay any attention to it because by the time your primary came out, there had been enough primaries before so most of the time the nominee was decided.”
Super Tuesday determines the winner of both Republican and the Democrats.
