Ambassador of China to Samoa, HE Longzhuang Shi

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Samoa was yesterday commended by the Ambassador of China to Samoa, HE Longzhuang Shi in his final interview with Newsline.
HE Shi said in his two years of service to Samoa he has come to appreciate the professionalism of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees.
“I am not just talking about the Chief Executive Officers and the Assistant CEOs, I am also talking about the officers beneath them,” Shi said.
According to him MFAT like the Ministry of Finance have been professional and have conducted business with the Peoples Republic of China Embassy to the highest degree.
“It’s very important to have efficiency in any Government, because any plan can be grand but it all depends on the implementation process,” he said.

In the past two years, Ambassador Shi has overseen the signing of major financial agreements between Samoa and China, which include at least US$20 million in the last two years alone.
Other assistance by China include the building of a Government House at Mulinuu, South Pacific Games facilities, education scholarships for Samoan students to China and various other assistance in kind.
Shi said the relations between the two countries in exemplified great success in the last two years.
“Because of our common goals, the relations in the last two years for Samoa and China have been very good,” Shi said.
The Ambassador says the future for the two countries look bright.
“The strength lies in cooperation and consideration,” he said.
Ambassador Shi has been hosted to farewell dinners by different Ministries in the last week.
