SPEAKER RULES : Speaker Tolofuaivalelei as he is escorted out of his domain at the end of the day's session.

The Speaker of the House, Tolofuaivalelei Leiataua, has ruled out any bi elections for the 13 Independent Members of Parliament, trying to form an opposition party.
‘As I have not been officially informed, and no names of members or number of members have been put before me, they are therefore not recognised in Parliament,” Speaker Tolofuaivalelei announced at the opening of session today.
The Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele took the floor after the Speaker’s announcement to withdraw concerns raised in his Ministerial Statement when Parliament reconvened on Monday.
“Now that the situation is understood I withdraw my concerns, still it was important to address the issue before the eggs are hatched – I don’t like unhatched eggs.,” says PM Tuilaepa.
“ I hope the opposition members did not lose too much sleep last night over the issue.”
Yesterday the Interim Chairman, Lealailepule Rimoni, of the new grouping of opposition MPs described the PM’s concerns as ‘nonsense’.
“We are not stupid, we know what we are doing,” he told Samoalivenews.com.
Under Standing Orders of the House , members can stay on in Parliament as independents, if they wish to resign their party allegiance.
Bi elections are only required when a member wishes to switch allegiance to another party recognised in the House.
Opposition MPs have sidestepped standing orders of the House by not seeking official recognition of the new political party from the Speaker of the House.

The Eggs are Cracked Prime Minister!
written by if this be true, May 06, 2008
The rift that started those cracks began with you. It will end with your removal or the removal of HRRP.
To Members of HRRP-- Which will it be, Tuilaepa or the Removal of all HRRP Party Members?

Decision has already been made for you HRRP. The People of Samoa are old fashion that way. The tea leaves are read and you are out of time
Woo Hoo !!

Why would Savaii start talks at this time?
Maybe, they have had enough of the B.S or maybe they do not see a future with their participation.
New Standind Orders
written by Kigamaka, May 07, 2008
What a waist of time, people wake up the so called new standing orders that the pm was refering to was the one that the hrpp passed especially for things like these when arises.Pm knew that pretty soon, things that hrpp and its members are going to do are, very stupidity decision, that affects the well being and lives of our dearly country of Samoa. So they need something to back them up and still to strengthen their side in the name of by law also not to soar the number of its political party, watch there will be more amendments coming up and new laws, this smells for a new changes in all the seats of parliament.Nomore Hrpp.
