$150,000 from McD's and Lotto Samoa

Deputy Minister of Tourism Hon. Joe Keil was a generous man on Monday when he handed over two sponsorship cheques to the South Pacific Games Authority.

Mr. Keil owner of both McDonalds Family Restaurant and Lotto Samoa donated money from the two businesses to help towards the games.

SAT$50,000 was donated by McDonalds for the Torch Relay.

With this sponsorship McDonalds Family restaurant has become the main sponsor of the torch relay.

The Relay will begin sometime at the end of this month or the beginning of August says SPGA Media Co-ordinator Chris Peteru.

The torch will be travelling around both Savai’i and Uplou and will end up in Apia.

Lotto Samoa donated SAT$100,000 which is still to be decided where it will be spent.

Minister of the SPGA, Hon. Faumuina Tiatia Liuga thank Mr. Keil for the donation, “to better equip us to host the South Pacific Games.”
