The Badminton officials and squad members are again pushing hard to win all Gold medals during the South Pacific Games, despite their being no coach to train the team.

Fa’afetai Ah Kuoi who is supposedly the competition manager was reluctant to answer questions regarding the team preparations and referred Newsline to Erich Mathis, whom Fa’afetai referred too as Team Coach.

During a interview with Erich Mathis Newsline questioned whether he was the coach for the Badminton squad, and he immediately denied the fact of him being coach and instead referred himself as the team manager.

From previous interviews with squad members, a majority of the team indicated that Tupu Fua [fellow teammate] is currently their team coach.

Promises of a Chinese coach was constantly being promised to the team for the last couple of months, especially when squad selection was being made official and since then they have anticipated patiently for the arrival of their new coach who is yet still to come.

During an interview with Tupu Fua himself, he also indicated that he was taking charge by teaching and training the team all the techniques and movements of Badminton that he knows of, from previous tournaments.

So fare their has been no complaints with Tupu’s training methods and teachings and the squad members remain optimistic and hopeful that all Tupu’s training will be enough to win Gold during the South Pacific Games.
