 Within 24 hours of the SPG closing ceremony, the Prime Minister has made a public speech to thank the country in the hosting of the "best ever" Sth Pacific Games

 

The Prime Minister, Hon Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has thanked the country and everyone who helped in the hosting of the South Pacific Games in Samoa. The Prime Minister also used the occassion to annouce the commitment of the Government to provide more funding for the national sports bodies so that the whole country keeps up the momentum bulit up in SPG sports leading up to the Olympics, the Commonwealth Games and the next Pacific Games in New Caledonia.

The Prime Minister also invited all the gold medallists to meet with the Government on Wednesday this week. This meeting is expected to be the coordination of the payments under the Government bonus scheme for those who qualify under the Government Sports awards bonuses
