South Pacific Games 2007

Profits soar at Markets

Arts and Crafts have been on display for the last three weeks in front of the Government building because of the South Pacific Games and the Teuila Festival.

Amongst the stall owners, popular local boutique, Head to Toes had a variety of items on display for sale.

These included t-shirts with the SPG logo printed on them and traditional Samoan handicrafts.

Storekeeper of Head to Toes said, this year especially busy because of the increased demand from tourists and athletes in Samoa for the South Pacific Games.

They had a lot of athletes coming to check out what they had to offer with many making purchases of Samoan souvenirs such as bags and flowers.

Profits have also increased dramatically thanks to SPG.

The Small Businesses Association had encouraged the shop to set up a stall in front of the Government building.

The boutique decided to join in the special market for the three weeks which SPG and Teuila covered.

The market place has been very popular with hundreds of tourists, locals and athletes walking past each day.
