Samoa's Va'a Get Blessed

Thirty-eight Va’a (Outrigger Canoes) are the newest addition of sporting equipment which were presented Monday afternoon by the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi to be used during South Pacific Games. Twenty have already arrived and 16 will be arriving next week. There are 16 single Outrigger Canoes, 16 six seater Outrigger Canoes and the other four are provided for the paddlers training during the event. There are also two old Va’a’s. Wai Tui Surf Company in Fiji provided the Outriggers for the competition and together with the help of the South Pacific Games Association transported them to Samoa. Moreover, the whole project came up to $690,000, which includes everything that will be needed. Wai Tui Surf Company in Fiji have had some great achievements in the past with the construction of their Outrigger Canoes. They were also the main company who constructed the canoes for the 2003 South Pacfic Games and the World Sprints. “We believe that there will be a great help from these canoes regarding the trainings of our paddlers and also during the games,” Tuilaepa said Comments (0) Subscribe to this comment's feed Write comment Name Email Title Comment
