Within hours after the finals of the Wellington rugby 7s in New Zealand, the Manu Samoa 7s team had to preapre to fly into the USA this weekend The Manu Samoa 7s fans in the USA are already getting ready for the big day in San Diego next weekend as the Manu Samoa 7s team gets into top gear

A former Samoalive News Alliance partner Lupeuluiva Talamaivao-Smith has filed this report :

International Rugby Sevens, held in the USA, has been the most anticipated event for 2008 for many supporters and diehard fans of the Manu Samoa, not only in the Los Angeles area and various California counties, but many are expected to travel from other US states to cheer on their Manu boys. With last year's spectacular performances by Manu Samoa at Petco stadium, the International Rugby Board (IRB), is progressively attracting many eager spectators to the sport of rugby. The U.S.A., being dominated by sports such as football and baseball, on the sports front, is now predicted by many fans, as the future mecca of Rugby. With approximately a week away, the excitement has obviously heightened, and it is apparent in various Samoan communities in California. Manu Samoa banners and Samoan flags are displayed on vehicles, and for some extreme fans, samoan flags are flying high on their front yards. Many supporters are organizing with other Manu Samoa fans to tailgate at specific locations on February 9-10. As one enthusiastic fan noted: " I am a proud Samoan and I'm going to San Diego to support the Manu- Go Manu! Go Samoa!"
