Coach Tafuacaption : RESIGNED: Samoa's champion rugby 7's coach Fuimaono Dickie Tafua.

Coach Fuimaono Dickie Tafua today handed in his resignation as coach for the national 7’s rugby team.
He gave no reasons for leaving, except to assure the Samoa Rugby Union that he will continue to be available to help out, wherever possible, with the development of rugby.
Coach Tafua however has had to juggle over the past several months with a commitment to rugby, and the responsibilities as private secretary to the Head of State, His Highness Tupua Tamasese Efi,
Winning the Hong Kong and Wellington championships last year, plus a legitimate shot at winning the final standings in the circuit, was the best Samoa has ever done since the start of the IRB sponsored internationals.
The Hong Kong Sevens was the most prized championship win for the Samoan coach.
The victory was only the second since the famous 1983 championship victory.
Coach Tafua however added a first of his own by having earlier won the Wellington 7’s  in New Zealand at the start of the circuit.
A new replacement for Coach Tafua is too early to tell, but team manager cum assistant coach Maposua Rudolf Nauer should be the favourite.
“I know he can do the job, he will also continue along the same path of development we started when we came in,” resigned  Coach Tafua said today.

One of the most memorable moments of Fuiamaono Dickie Tafua's coaching career captured in video when Pesamino scored the Hong Kong 7s final
