Pacific Sports Management has announced that David Lemi has extended his contract with Bristol Rugby for a further
3 year term.

Lemi was under contract until the end of the current season but will
now remain a Bristol Rugby player until June 2011.

Lemi has been a revelation since joining Bristol Rugby in the summer
of 2005 and has, to date, scored 27 tries from 41 first team starts
and was the top try scorer in last season's Guinness Premiership.

Head Coach Richard Hill emphasised how important Lemi has become to
Bristol Rugby.  "His try scoring record has been second to none since
that point and he's a key factor in our attacking game and has the
ability to score tries often from impossible positions on the field.?

It was not an easy decision for the young speedster, as there were
many clubs looking at securing his services after his successful run
with Bristol.  In fact, Bristol had made an offer months before the
Rugby World Cup but we chose to hold off the decision until all of his
options had been exhausted.

Bristol fought hard to retain Davy and had to fend off competition
from both French and English Premiership Clubs.  In the end, we were
able to maximise David's earning potential.

When Bristol first offered David Lemi an opportunity to play
professional rugby, the contract was only an 8-month trial run.  In
fact, Bristol were after Brian Lima, who then put Lemi's name foward.
Two years later, Lemi, who hails from Vaiafai, Savaii, has proven that
grass-roots local players from the islands can adapt to the highest
levels of professional rugby.

David is an inspiration for local players, and what he has done with
this opportunity is help to pave the way for up and coming youngsters
who should also want to seek professional clubs overseas.
