FIFA team sent in to organize debt-ridden Samoa football

ZURICH, Switzerland: Football's world governing body is sending an emergency team to Samoa to work with the debt-ridden national federation. A normalization committee will work for one year "to restore the proper administration of football in Samoa and to protect the Samoa Football Soccer Federation and its assets," FIFA said in a statement Thursday. The five-member committee plans to settle the debts and then hand over running of the federation to newly elected officials.
