After playing a vital role in the 21-12 win by his team the New England Patriots over his old team the San Diego Chargers, Junior Seau is again getting the media attention with the build up to the Super Bowl 2008

Junior Seau who is one of the oldest players in the NFL has this year played one of his best seasons in his professional football career spanning 18 years

In the win today over the Chargers, the Patriots defence made the difference. The media has reported that most dramatic stop in the game came on third-and-1 from the 4 early in the third quarter when Michael Turner -- playing for LaDainian Tomlinson -- took a handoff but was tackled by a blitzing Junior Seau for a 2-yard loss. The Chargers probably were in four-down territory, trailing 14-9, but after watching Seau blow up the play, Norv Turner decided to take the three points.

As the media hype builds up to the SuperBowl, the media is likely to put the spotlight on the outstanding career of Junior Seau. Asa Samoan he has not only excelled in sports, he has become a community leader with his Junior Seau Foundation in San Diego. The inspirational quote by Junior Seau this year when asked about his ability to play top professional at his age of 38, is a follows:

"I never doubt myself playing the game of football," he says. "Never allow the world to put barriers on you as a person or as a player or as a human being as to what you should be doing, what you should be saying at (whatever) age you may be.And I never allowed that to happen."

Tiaina Junior Seau was born on 19 January 1969 as a 5th child of a family of 7 children. His parents, Tiaina Sr. and Luisa, were born on the island of Aunuu in American Somoa. It is reported that Junior Seau did not begin speaking English until he was 7.
