Manu Samoa 7s named

The Samoa Rugby Football Union has announced its 12-man squad to compete in the next leg of the International Rugby Board’s Sevens Circuit in Wellington and San Diego next month. Samoa is the defending champions of the Wellington Sevens and according to head coach, Galumalemana Rudolf Moors, the team selected will be out to defend its title. “It’s the best team we have selected from the training squad,” Galumalemana said yesterday. “Our aim is to try and defend our title in Wellington and play well in San Diego.” The former Manu Samoa halfback said the selecting process was not easy. “During the trials this week I thought all the players put up a hand but we can only select 12.” The team departs Auckland next weekend but before that they will get the chance to iron out some of their combinations in this weekend’s 10-aside competition. “Our aim is to maintain our match fitness so the management decided taking part in this weekend’s 10s is crucial in that department.” The Manu Samoa Sevens team for Wellington and San Diego: Simaika Mikaele Alafoti Fa’osiliva Apelu Faauuga Meki Purcell Alapasa Cordtz Alatasi Tupou Solomon Silipa Lolo Lui Uale Mai Reupena Levasa Esera Lauina Mikaele Pesamino Non-Traveling reserves Ponifasio Vasa Pulemalie Sopo Mike Gabriel Fetu Sasalu Comments (12) Subscribe to this comment's feed Good Luck Boys... written by Mataio, January 18, 2008 To Galu and the boys, All the best for the coming tournaments....
