The Manu Samoa 7s was edged out this afternoon by a strong physical South African team (22-12) in the semi finals of the IRB San Diego rugby 7s tournament. The Manu Samoa 7s team managed to easily dispense of Scotland in the quarter finals. However, in the semi finals, the Manu Samoa 7s team was shut out by South Africa for most of the game in the first half. The Manu Samoa 7s tried to catch up in the second half but it was not be their day in San Diego.

The Manu Samoa 7s will now prepare for the next IRB tournament in Hong Kong next month where they will be defending their Cup they won last year.

The live SBC television coverage of the San Diego rugby 7s tournament created problems for a number of church services which clashed with the live telecast of the quarter finals today

Just Chin up and try again

Ah, yes. It was quite hard to hear what was going with all the screaming and the occasional foreign rambling (what others refer to as 'cursing' smilies/cheesy.gif) but when the screaming subsided and the T.V was finally in my full view, it didn't take long for me to realize why everyone else was moving outside to do the umu instead.

I honestly thought they did well against the all-star South African team. The Boys in Blue should now concentrate on how to improve their morale and pace through next month, and hold on to our pride in the Hong Kong Sevens.

Perhaps the Year of The Rat will be in our coaches side (Year of bountiful intelligence, supposedly) and something will come out of it...?

In conclusion, excellent game Boys!

This was my first trip to watch our Manu Samoa play at the USA 7's tournament, and will never miss another event again. I give it up to the boys for staying strong and making it that far in the tournament. Hey! they won Fiji, what more can I ask for... smilies/grin.gif. I know it's always nice to win, but they definitely do so each and everytime they represent our Atunu'u amongst the larger countries. Great job Manu Samoa! may our Living God continue to bless and keep you always smilies/kiss.gif smilies/kiss.gif
