Galumalemana Rudolph Moors has been appointed the new Head Coach of the Manu Samoa Seven’s team after former Coach Fuimaono Titimaea Tafua resigned.
The 38 year old who has been Assistant Coach under Fuimaono for the past two years is not prepared to comment on his new position.
The Samoa Rugby Football Union is planning however an official function to formally announce the coaching transition from Fuimaono to Galumalemana.
The new appointment has the unreserved endorsement of ex-coach Fuimaono.
“Rudolf should fit into the job well, he knows what is required and it is just a matter of him following up on what we have already gone through,” Fuimaono says.
Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Rugby Union, Su’a Peter Schuster also has belief that Galemalemana can do the job.
He stated the SRU Board is very confident he can follow the success of the previous tournament.
“We have confidence in Rudolph to carry on the success of the tenure.”
In the 2006-2007 seasons Samoa came third in the World Circuit, their best result ever, with victories in Wellington and Hong Kong.
Fuimaono has stood down as Head Coach because of his new position as secretary to the Head of State, His Highness Tupua Tamasese Efi.
