![]() With the IRB Wellington rugby 7s tournament in four days time, the Manu Samoa 7s team flew out of Faleolo yesterday afternoon for New Zealand Samoa is currently ranked 7th after the first two legs of the 2008 IRB rugby 7s circuit. Kenya for the first time is ranked 6th ahead of Samoa. After a disappointing performance in Dubai and George, the Manu Samoa 7s team under a Samoan Barbarians label won the Uruguay 7s tournament in South America earlier this month. When farewelled by Government, the Manu Samoa 7s team assured its supporters that it will do its best to defend the Wellington 7s cup they won in a spectacular finals game against Fiji last year. On day 1 in Wellington on Friday 1 February 2008, the Manu Samoa 7s will be playing in pool A against Papua New Guinea, Canada and New Zealand.
