The Manu Samoa 7s led by Uale Mai today established that they are still a world force in 7s rugby when they thrashed Tonga (52-0) in the finals of the mens IRB World Cup 7s Qualifiers at Apia Park this afternoon.

The Australian womens 7s rugby has also set their top ranking in Oceania when they beat NZ women (22-15)  in the finals of the World Cup Qualifiers today

The teams who now qualify for the World Cup 7s are Manu Samoa and Tonga for mens and NZ and Australia in the womens 7s rugby.

Outstanding by the men in blue
written by Robbie Deans, July 27, 2008
I believe this is close to the best Sevens teams we've ever fielded. Even more, Rudy said that Jerry Meafou is returning from injury. I must say that without Pesamino we struggled for a short period but it seems the team has improved so much since and this team is close to being the strongest we have seen yet! David Lemi as i expected was a standout performer; he will be key to winning the Dubai 2009 World Cup. Don't forget that Lolo Lui wasn't even playing, so we have something to really look forward to in sevens rugby.

My Dream Team For The WORLD CUP 2009

Forwards:
Simaika Mikaele
Alafoti Fa'osiliva
Ofisa Treviranus
Apelu Fa'aiuga
Afa Aiono

Backs:
Uale Mai
Lolo Lui
David Lemi
Alatasi Tupou
Reupena Levasa
Mikaele Pesamino
Jerry Meafou
