Toa Samoa rugby league team will now take on the Cedars of Lebanon next Wednesday for a spot in the World Cup tournament next year.

After dispensing of a spirited USA Tomhawks yesterday 42-10, the Toa Samoa rugby league team will now focus on how to beat the Lebanese Cedars team. The Cedars were able to eliminate the Welsh team 50-26 yesterday.

The Toa Samoa -Tomhawks game was live on SBC TV in Samoa yesterday morning. The Toa Samoa has a number of NRL stars like Tony Puletua and Nigel Vagana.

The Toa Samoa coach told the media that he is happy with the way his team played "It was a good hit-out for our first game," said coach John Ackland. "We only got off the plane on Monday morning so we'll improve on that. The Americans were very brave and all credit to them. They did surprise me

The Government of Samoa approved of $10,000 to help out with the preparations of the Toa Samoa in their efforts to secure a spot in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup

The next game between the Cedars and the Toa Samoa will be televised live on SBC TV in Samoa at 8:30am  on Wednesday 14 November 2007
