The ‘Tuaman’ has what amounts to a warm up fight in the
Ukraine on July 12 with a yet to be named opponent.

But Tua's trainer Roger Bloodworth has confirmed it will be someone outside the world's top 100.

"This fight is just to get Dave's engine started again," Bloodworth said from Arizona.

"No one is going to go in with Dave for free. Whoever goes in with him is going to be looking to knock him off. While the opponent won't be King Kong, it will be somebody who will make Dave work for the win."

Expect a similar opponent to the last two Tua destroyed in 2007 Mexican heavyweight champ Saul Montana and American Cerrone Fox.

If the world No 21 can be as impressive in the Ukraine it will put him in a confident frame of mind before his highly-anticipated bout against the winner of the Chazz Witherspoon/Chris Arreola bout on June 21.

Both undefeated fighters have agreed to face off against Tua in New York if they win.

"Going up against Dave will be a big step up for them," Bloodworth, a former trainer of champion Evander Holyfield, said.

"And it will be a nice fight for Dave because he needs to get in with a young undefeated fighter and do his thing.

"And I can tell you Dave is looking forward to stepping up his competition and getting to that championship fight he craves. I think he is at a stage in his career and life that he can't fight too many more small fights.

"They do more harm than good because I think he needs that competition to give him that spark he needs to keep him motivated at the level that he needs to be."

Tua who will go into camp with Bloodworth within the next two weeks has been out of the ring after spending time in New Zealand taking care of his family and his charities, as well as overseeing his legal case against former managers Kevin Barry and Martin Pugh.

His nine months of inactivity have been frustrating for Bloodworth, who had Tua down to 234 pounds and looking his sharpest since 2000 when he challenged Lennox Lewis for the heavyweight crown.

"It's frustrating because you don't like time to slip away from you especially when you see the progress that Dave had been making.

"He was making some noise and people were excited about what he was doing.

"But Dave is in a good head space.

"He knows what he wants to achieve and he's still involved in the sport for the right reasons.

"David Tua is on a mission and nothing is going to stop him."
